The boredom of the best dressed of 2011

When the year comes to a close it seems the thing to do to create various "best of" lists in regards to that specific year. The theme of these lists can be just about anything, and for some reason they are by the general public perceived to represent the truth. Sadly enough though the editors behind these lists often seem to lack any form of integrity or imagination as they more or less just mirror what or who the reader expects to be on top of the list. Very often it is also simply showing who or what has been the "it thing" the past year. So when the fashion media of the world lock themselves in a room for days, maybe weeks (what do I know?) to discuss in depth, based on their incredible experience and know how about fashion, who has been the best dressed woman of the year, one may be forgiven for not expecting a surprising winner. for some naive reason we expect this group of journalists to have an exclusive knowledge on another level about fashion, being at the forefront of it and identifying trends way before the rest of us. Yet who do they present to us as we are sitting on the edge of our seats in desperate anticipation to be shown the best of the  best when it comes to impeccable style sense?

I did some quick research of the biggest fashion magazines around the globe and found that about 70% of them had the same woman topping their list.

Wait for it, you would have never guessed and you'll be blown away by this...

Here it comes...

Kate aka The Duchess of Cambridge Middleton!

Ok, she is not a bad dresser, don't get me wrong. I mean she actually dresses really nice, but is "nice" what we want? Whatever happened to the Avant Garde of fashion?

Could it perhaps have been the case that she was the better half of the biggest media event of the year, more than her wardrobe?

Well, well... As I'm coming to an end to this post I kind of regret giving it the time and energy that I have. So I'll just end it with another truth instead. Everyone knows her sister dresses better anyway...

Wow!
