Better than the real deal

I am not a big fan of realist painting but as always there are exceptions to every rule. British realist painter Nathan Walsh is one such exception. Through his painting he ads something that photography can never capture. His amazing cityscapes have me simply spell bound. The series depicting various locations in and around New York are for me particularly intriguing considering the fact that I spent a few years living in that city at one point of my life. These paintings allow for me to feel like I'm back there again, taking in and reliving all that my senses would have taken in, as if I would have physically been there.
