World history through the lens of super heroes

When I was a kid I was mesmerized by the world of comic books. Come to think of it I've had many interests that generally I guess are associated with nerdy behavior (collecting coins, model aeroplanes, debating and drama), but I guess my passion for various sports somehow balanced things out. Anyway, as one does if comic's are an interest one eventually graduates from Disney (although I can still enjoy the occasional issue of Donald Duck) to Marvel with titles like Spiderman, The Hulk and X-Men and DC Comic's with titles such as Superman, Batman and Green Lantern. And as with everything when there are two big players at hand, there is a great rivalry between the fans of the two. On my hand I did not choose sides exclusively though.

So when I came across the work of Indonesian digital artist Agan Harahap I instantly became seduced. Placing super heroes in the midst of world shaping historical events set my imagination into spin in a similar manner as these comic's did in my early adolescent years. Nice to know the kid in me is just one great image away from coming up to the surface again.
